Remember the ancient greek Archimedies? He was the man who was so inspired by his discovery about the principal of displacement of mass by a fluid that he ran naked down the the street. I sometimes wonder what what was most important here, the discovery or the way it was impressed upon the popular culture of the time.

So onto the topic - TA DA - Internet rent free - . Well if you want internet for nix first you have to have to have a free phone line. Now the honest solution to this problem is what I am offering.

Until recently a big problem with telecommunications was that your telephone company operated what is known as a natural monopoly situation.

Your relationship with the phone company went like this... They offered you a minimum monthly charge and a cost per call... If you didn't want to pay their way you didn't telecommunicate. It was pretty one sided really. Sort of like the freedom of the press. Great if you own a publishing company.

These days things are a little better for the little people. The natural two wire monopoly is under attack from cellular and satellite services. But still these guys have massive investments in network equipment that they want you to pay for.

Now please don't think that I don't love and admire telecos. This structure has served us well but.. Technology is moving on and sadly we are all paying an expensive rental for something that we will soon no longer need to pay rent for.
